This position is responsible for providing coordination services for customers and Program Allies. EAs provide recruitment, training, program mentorship, pre-and post-inspections, and serve as the primary liaison between the Small Business program and its Program Allies. EAs also serve customers by identifying energy efficiency opportunities during lead follow-up site visits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote the energy efficiency program to customers and program allies within your assigned territory.
  • Understand and implement the Small Business Incentive program by:
  • Making outbound calls to new and existing customers and program allies
  • Manage field time effectively with customers or Program Allies.
  • Be responsive to customer inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person, to move projects toward completion.
  • Work with business owners and property managers to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance in participating in energy efficiency programs.
  • Provide prompt follow-up to customers lead & inquiries as required.
  • Identify on-site opportunities for energy efficiency measures.
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of the program’s strategic direction regarding energy efficiency and business activities of its customers.
  • Discuss technical elements of energy consuming equipment – i.e., lighting, HVAC systems, hot water systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), compressed air and refrigeration equipment, network lighting controls.
  • Maintain professional appearance, appropriate for a representative of Ameren Illinois.
  • Be able to work in a team atmosphere and willing to collaborate on continuous improvement of operations year over year.

Job Requirements:

  • Energy Efficiency experience – preferred
  • CEM/CEA/BEP certified- or commitment ot have completed with in 12 months of starte date on program
  • Previous customer service, sales or marketing experience.
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized and have ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to identify and resolve project application issues with program allies.
  • Must be flexible and able to efficiently handle fast paced workload.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 programs, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong data entry skills when entering notes, logging calls and uploading inspection information to the online database.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with program allies, customers, clients and fellow employees.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data needed for reporting purposes.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel throughout assigned territory (Southern Illinois).
  • Must live in Ameren Illinois service territory- travelling throughout Southern Illinois territory- (South of Belleville, East St. Louis, Carbondale, Marion)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and kneel, etc., during onsite inspections.
