Position Summary

This position serves a floating field position – combined Energy Advisor and Quality Assurance/Quality Control – as backup for the existing field team. The role will also serve as the primary point of contact for customers who are participating in the HEIQ program as well as QA for assessment review.

The Specialist will be called upon periodically to work with the other IQ staff in making presentations to internal (e.g. Program Managers, program staff) and external stakeholders, notably clients who are very interested in what Walker-Miller Energy Services is doing to uncover both successes and challenges with the company’s current programs.

The successful candidate is curious, professional, self-motivated, and articulate in terms of conveying the actions Walker-Miller Energy Services must take to continue to improve. You will also be working with others who are passionate about energy efficiency and making a positive impact on the industry.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Embrace and operate within the core values.
  • Schedule and conduct on-site inspections to assess project viability and/or verify work completed by Trade Allies and Walker-Miller Energy Services staff meet clients and corporate expectations/set quality standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer service and communication between the Ameren customer, Home Energy Specialist team, and the field staff conducting assessments.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Field Supervisor, QA/QC Manager, and Field Operations Manager, and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Assist with the quality review of assessments conducted by the field team.
  • Prepare weekly activity reports and track progress towards program goals.
  • Lead meetings as required.
  • Assist in process improvements to ensure quality within and across program.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Provide a professional appearance appropriate for a representative of Walker-Miller Energy Services.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.

Desired Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in basic wiring, lighting, HVAC, troubleshooting and other technologies installed in residential, commercial and industrial facilities
  • Background preferred in one or more of the following: - Preferred
    • Building Science and Design
    • Building Envelope Professional (BPI)
    • Weatherization or related fields
    • Building maintenance
    • Home inspection
    • HVAC, lighting, controls, or renewable energy
  • Experience in installing technologies, manual labor and using tools - Preferred
  • Technical aptitude required to diagnose and perform mechanical tasks related to energy efficiency
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Must be able to handle a wide work variety and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, and have an ability to prioritize workload
  • Ideal candidate will be required to obtain BPI Certification within the first three (3) months of hire
