Outreach Associate Peoria, IL
Increase Awareness: Educate property owners, managers, and tenants about the program’s benefits. Boost Participation: Encourage enrollment in energy efficiency projects. Build Relationships: Establish strong connections with community leaders and relevant organizations. Revitalize Engagement: Focus on communities with declining participation to identify new project opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Regular In-Person Outreach: Conduct in field outreach 2-3 times per week (50-60% travel required) to include but not limited to multifamily properties within Ameren’s service area, specifically focusing on rural areas within the state. If direct contact is not possible for the client, gather essential contact details for follow-up information (including name, role/title, email, and phone number). Each outreach visit should be documented, including date, location, contacts made, and any immediate outcomes or next steps.
Engage Stakeholder Groups: Connect with organizations related to multifamily housing, including:
Property owners and managers
Real estate investors
Maintenance personnel
Tenant associations
The coordinator will identify and attend meetings or networking events of these groups, introduce the energy efficiency program, and foster partnerships.
Participate in Community Events: Attend 2-3 events per quarter (within Ameren territory) to interact directly with tenants and stakeholders, such as housing fairs or community meetings. Examples include tenant association meetings, housing fairs, local energy clinics, or community resource days in various neighborhoods. A brief summary of each event, including audience size and interactions, should be reported to the program team. Travel may occur outside normal business hours and overnight stays may be necessary
Explore Sponsorship Opportunities: Identify and assess potential sponsorships at multifamily housing conferences, trade shows, and industry events, focusing on new and diverse opportunities to expand program reach.
Target Underrepresented Communities: Prioritize outreach to market-rate properties and public housing authorities with low or declining program participation, aiming to uncover opportunities for energy efficiency projects (including but not limited to HVAC and BE projects). In particular, the coordinator should target market-rate apartment communities and public housing authorities that have not engaged with the program recently.
Collaborate on Marketing Strategies: Join biweekly marketing meetings to share field insights, review promotional materials, and discuss challenges with proposed solutions. If certain outreach strategies are not yielding expected results, the coordinator should be prepared to discuss these challenges openly and propose practical solutions or adjustments. This collaborative approach will help refine marketing strategies continuously and ensure that outreach and marketing efforts are aligned.
Highlight Success Stories: Collect and submit at least one positive case study per quarter, showcasing the program’s impact for Ameren’s promotional channels.
Communication and Reporting: The Outreach Associate will maintain regular communication with the client’s program management: this includes brief weekly email updates summarizing recent outreach activities to be included on CMC weekly report, key leads, and progress against targets (such as number of community contacts made, events attended, stories submitted, etc.). The Outreach Associate should be responsive to client inquiries and open to feedback on their approach. All activities must be conducted in a professional manner that positively represents the Ameren brand and the multifamily energy efficiency program.
